10-20-2009 Conference Meet
  • Conference runner of the year for the men was Craig Baggett.
  • Conference runner of the year for the women was Lexie Lexie Schustrom

10-13-09 Conference meet at Scotland
  • Flat and fast course where both the guys and girls won over Scotland and Richmond.
  • The Guys were led by George Hayes in 17:54
  • The girls had a tight 1-2-3 pack with Sarah Pressley winning in a time of 20:38

10-10-09 Elks Patriot Run
  • Results

10-6-09 Pinecrest Conference Meet
  • Pinecrest meet dominate this weeks conference meet.  The men's perfected scored the
    meet followed by Hoke and then Lumberton.  Dalton Allen finished second in the meet in a
    time of 17:46.

9-29-09
  • This weeks conference race was at the beautiful Brit Park in Lumberton.  The teams
    attending besides Pinecrest were Lumberton and Richmond.
  • Both the Pinecrest boys and Pinecrest girls teams kept their unbeaten streaks going in
    conference meets.  Both the boys and girls teams perfect scored the meet with 15 points
    each.
  • In the men's race Craig Baggett led the way with a 16:55 on a fast course.  Pinecrest had 6
    out of the top 7 by the first mile.  By the second mile Pinecrest had 7 of the top runners
    leading the race.  By the end the Pinecrest men had 14 of the top 15 runners.  This was a
    good race for the guys since they had just ran on Saturday at Hagan Stone.  This week
    most of the guys will have run three races in one week as they head into the final month of
    the season.

9-22-09 Purnel Swett Conference Meet
  • The Guys and Girls both won their races.  The girls perfect scored the other teams with
    Olivia Hernandez winning the race.  In the guys race Nathan Frederique won leading
    Pinecrest to victory as they scored 24 points beating the next team by 23 points.

9-19-09 Wolfpack
  • The Pinecrest Girls team was the only team to compete in the Wolfpack invitational.
  • The girls placed 5th with 183 points.  Those in front of us were TC Robeson 1st 102 pt
    ranked #1 in the State, East Chapel Hill 2nd, 140 pts. ranked # 3 in the state, West
    Johnston 3rd, 170 pts., ranked # 5 i nthe state, and Cary 4th, 178 pts., ranked # 7 in the
    state.  It was a good meet.. We are happy with the results. The girls believe they can do
    better and are excited about how they matched up against some of the best in the state.

9-16-09 Pinecrest Conference Meet
  • The Pinecrest Men and Women both won the conference meet between Purnell Swett and
    Scotland.  The men's and women's teams perfect scored both races.
  • The women took 10 of the top 14 spots.  This was a young team as the top 10 runners did
    not run this race. This gives us a chance to challenge our younger runner and they are
    responding to that challenge. We have some very dedicated runners.
  • The men's team finished 9 in the top 10 with Craig Baggett leading the way in a new course
    record of 17:55.

9/9 Hoke Conference Meet
  • Pinecrest Women won by a perfect score (15) over Hoke and Richmond High school.  
    Ashley Brock won the girls raise.
  • Pinecrest Men won with a score of 24 points over Hoke and Richmond.  Nathan Frederique
    led the Pinecrest men by finishing second.

9/5 Jungle Run
  • Bus is leaving at 4:00 PM from the Track.  Bring some money for dinner.
  • Pinecrest ladies team finished 5th in the Developmental Girls race, 2nd in the Invitational,
    and 2nd in the Championship race.  Lexie Schustrom finished 2nd in 18:37.  She now has
    the 24th fastest time in the nation at 5k.  
  • The Pinecrest men's team finsihed 5th in the Invitational race and 6th in the Championship
    race.  They were lead by Dalton Allen in 23rd place finishing in 16:55.

8/29 Pinecrest Run-a-thon
  • The first annual run-a-thon was a huge success.  This fund raiser was one of the most
    successful fund raiser ever for the Pinecrest Cross Country team.  With 2/3rds of the
    donors sheets in we have raised $2900 so far for the team.
  • We want to say thank you to all the parents that came out to cheer on the team and we want
    to remind all athletes to get in their donor sheets next week.  I will hand back all donor
    sheets that I received on Saturday to the athletes with the totals.

8/26 Moore County Meet
  • Pinecrest, Union Pines, North Moore, and O'neal race it out to see who is the fastest in the
    County.
  • Pinecrest Boys finished second to Union Pines followed by O'Neal and North Moore.  Craig
    Baggett lead for most of the race but finished third due to foot problems.  Other standouts
    were Landon Sherwood and Jared Walters who set huge PR's to help Pinecrest.

8/20 Alumni-Parent Challenge Run
  • The first annual Alumni-parent challenge was a blast.  We had 46 runners compete in the
    5k with 10 returning alumni.  
  • In the men's race the Alumni pulled off a shocking win with a score of 21 to the Juniors 32,
    Seniors 33, Freshmen 76, and Sophomores 79.  Andrew Garrison won the men's race in a
    time of 18:46.
  • In the women's race the Juniors beat the combined team of the Freshmen and Seniors 30
    to 31.  The Sophomores came in third with a score of 64.  Senior Ashley Brock won the race
    in 22:31.

8/18 Parent Meeting
  • Stop by Mr. Swofford's room (4201) to pick up any paper work missed.  All physicals are due
    by Tuesday 8/25.  You can not practice without a physical.  Talk to Mr. Swofford if you will be
    getting your physical after the 25th of August.

7/19-7/24 Appalachian Cross Country Camp
  • took 20 athletes to camp and had a blast.
  • 2 mile race Boys finished 4th and Girls finished 4th.  Senior Craig Baggett lead the way for
    the boys with a 10:51 and 11th place finish.  Freshman Jenny Cunningham lead the way for
    the girls with a 13:36 and 26th place.
